What to expect?
1rst acupuncture treatment includes a medical consultation and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) tongue, face and pulse check with diagnosis. We check for signs of heat, cold, damp, wind and other factors that affect your organs, digestion and joints.
Did you know that arthritis is related to a heat/wind/damp attack in TCM.
or a cold is an invasion where the wind has allowed the cold and damp to invade your immune system.
Your treatment includes points to reduce these factors, which is rather cool...!!
You may also receive post treatment recommendations on lifestyle, diet and relaxation.

What to wear?
Loose clothing so we can access the parts of the body to be treated, please don't be offended if we ask you to remove your top or bottoms, we keep everything professional and will keep your dignity intact with covers and our private treatment space.

Before you come?
Please do not come if you've consumed alcohol, it really doesn't mix with needles or cups. Try have something to eat at least an hour prior to arriving, fainting from low blood sugar is not pleasant. Stay hydrated too. please also bring a list of any medication you may be on. If you're unsure if acupuncture is suitable, please do not hesitate to call or email beforehand. We always welcome questions.

Arrival
Please arrive approx. 5 to 10 minutes before your appointment especially for your first appointment as you will need to complete a medical/health form. The clinic runs a timetabled appointment schedule only.
Most of all, relax and enjoy some well-deserved "Me Time" healing works best when you allow the intelligence of your body space, time & stillness to activate and move into your relaxation nervous system.

After
With acupuncture you may feel woozy, a bit spacey and this normal as we move energy from one place to another or clear stagnation or toxins. Drink plenty of water and try have a relaxing, stress-free day. You may feel like this for a couple of days after too, but no longer than a week.
Cupping treatments may leave bruising dependant on the level of stagnant blood flow. As this clear over time the bruising becomes less and less. It is however very trendy at the moment to display your cupping marks as lots of athletes and celebs are turning to this ancient practice to help shift stuff.
